Wow, if you thought James Patterson’s books were formulaic, wait until you see “Alex Cross”! For those of you who don’t know the books… Alex Cross is Patterson’s protagonist, a psychologist/detective locking away the bad guys. He has been previously played by Morgan Freeman in “Kiss The Girls” and “Along Came A Spider”, two movies that deserve an Oscar compared to this dribble.

Cross and his cop buddies Monica and Tommy are on the hunt for a psychopath who calls himself Picasso (Matthew Fox), who is killing people connected to a French businessman called Mercier (Jean Reno). Eventually things get personal and Cross goes after Picasso.

So what’s wrong with this movie? Shit, where to start… with the bad script? The bad acting by Tyler Perry? Or just the complete lack of any common sense? Because why would two cops try to break into a police station’s evidence room? Something that by the way is apparently easy to do because they plan the whole thing in about a minute. Wouldn’t it make more sense though for them to just walk in because they’re… well, cops? And if you think that is bad… wait until you see the rest of the movie!
