The smart thing about BBC’s The Fall is that you already know who the killer is right from the start. Paul Spector (Jamie Dornan) is a family man by day and serial killer by night. Meanwhile we have icy cold Stella Gibson (Gillian Anderson) playing the cop who chases him. Things quickly turn into a cat and mouse game between the two when Gibson continues to get closer to Spector while he’s hunting down his next victim in Belfast.

Directed by Belgium’s very own Jakob Verbruggen, The Fall starts off slow but good and builds up to a nailbiting finish that you will not see coming… and which will get you riled up for a second season which has already been announced.

Gibson and Spector may have only shared the screen for all of five seconds, but it were five very intense seconds that promised a climactic confrontation. Guess we’ll have to wait a little bit longer for that confrontation to happen… fact remains though that The Fall is one hell of a slow-burning show that is worth your time.
