Matthew Vaughn, the director who previously brought us Kick-Ass and X-Men : First Class, is back with another movie based on a comic and it’s friggin’ awesome!

Based on Mark Millar’s comic, Kingsman : The Secret Service centers around troubled teen Eggsy (newcomer Taron Egerton), who is being recruited into a super-secret spy organization known as by Harry Hart (Colin Firth). And when we say spies, we do mean it right down to the hidden doors and armored umbrellas that shoot bullets. But oh oh, just then Samuel L. Jackson’s lisping evil genius plans to wipe out the entire human race with the help of Gazelle (Sofia Boutella), his henchwoman with bladed prosthetic legs.

You can tell Vaughn & co had a lot of fun making this completely over the top action flick, because it seeps through in pretty much every single image. That is, when they are not too busy paying tribute to British spy movies like the early James Bonds, The Avengers and The Man From U.N.C.L.E. And as if that isn’t good enough yet, Michael Caine and Mark Hamill are in it as well.

Sure, it’s juvenile but who cares… it’s not every day you get to watch Firth – the poster boy for British upper class sophistication – beat a couple dozen people to death in a church. It’s funny, stylish, riveting, silly and most of all, entertaining as hell!

The Blu-ray comes with a couple of galleries filled with production stills, the trailer, audio commentary by director Matthew Vaughn and a comprehensive behind-the-scenes look at the film's production with cast & crew interviews and on-set footage.
