Jill (Caitlyn Folley) is an LA girl who considers herself something of an artist while actually not doing a lot more than spending her days shopping and having sex in public spaces with her camera-obsessed boyfriend Adam (Ian Duncan). When they head off to an abandoned hospital with the idea of checking the place out for an exposition, they decide to film a sex tape there. As a joke, Adam restrains Jill to a bed and pretends to leave. While he’s gone, an evil spirit enters Jill in what has to be one of the most non-frightening and ridiculous-looking scenes ever in a horror flick. They leave the hospital only to return later with two friends and from there on it’s like watching a bunch of retards act out “Grave Encounters”. There are loud noises, people scare or die and ghosts wear nightgowns. Oh I’m sorry… didn’t mean to give away the entire plot there.

Yes, SX Tape is another found footage flick but a really friggin’ bad one. It managed to annoy the shit out of me in about five minutes, which I guess is quite a feat on its own. Folley is terribly annoying to watch and for a guy who has to do nothing more than talk from behind the camera, Duncan could’ve at least tried not to sound monotonous as fuck.

I have to say I expected more from a movie directed by Bernard Rose (Candyman) and produced by Steven Schneider (Paranormal Activity, Insidious, The Bay,…) than some found footage that should’ve stayed lost forever.
