I read On And On first but apparently this Chicago and Minneapolis based outfit is called On An On. They met at the SXSW festival while they were drunk and unlike so many other decisions we make while under the influence, the idea to start a band together was actually a good one.

The songs on “Give In” rely heavily on the past yet much to On An On’s credit, are given a modern twist which turns it into something completely their own. At times it sounds like the songs will collapse on themselves as synth sounds, fuzzy guitars, male and female vocals and all kinds of other sounds are heaped on top of one another yet the result is always amazing. I’m not sure if you can imagine a band that mixes up shoegaze, dreamy pop, ambient and post-rock… if not, why not just check out On An On and find out… just like me you might be pleasantly surprised!

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
