Ever noticed that Authority Zero’s initials are the same as the abbreviation of their homestate? Yup, that’s PunkRockTheory for you… always paying attention to the things that matter the least.

Anyway, these Arizona natives have already been playing skatepunk for quite some time now, sometimes ditching the –tepunk. That leaves ska for the mentally challenged among you. It has always worked for them and so they stick with the formula on “The Tipping Point”. That means there aren’t any surprises to be found on here but hey, did you really expect any? The album kicks off in high fashion with the one-two combo that is “No Other Place” and “Undivided”. Fast-paced rhythms, Pennywise-inspired riffs and more whoa’s than you can shake a stick at… which is what they do best.

There are some ska songs on here as well with “Struggle” and “Today We Heard The News”. It’s a side of them I always liked less but especially “Today We Heard The News” manages to stand out thanks to the change of pace in the song and the horns.

Good to see that these guys are still going strong even after twenty years!

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
