I remember when these guys started out on Jamey Jasta’s label Stillborn Records, they still sounded like every other tuff guy metalcore act on the block. Nothing wrong with that and it’s what got ‘em signed to Victory. After replacing pretty much everyone after the release of their second album, they released the rather disappointing “Fear Will Cast No Shadow” back in 2007. They’re back now with “Requiem” which promises to be 4their most ambitious and dense material yet’.

Maybe it is is for these guys but the eleven songs in “Requiem” sound like every other metalcore band out there complete with thrashy parts and clean vocals. Seriously, give us something more original because I really don’t know what to write about this kind of releases anymore! Fans of Bullet For My Valentine and a ballsier Avenged Sevenfold might still be waiting for this one but I am most definitely not. Let’s hope that this is indeed a requiem for this band!

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
