With an October 29th release Bad Religion is well on time with their Christmas album. Yes, that’s right… Bad Religion has been threatening for years to release an album with all your favorite seasonal classics and finally cranked out an album that will help you get through the holidays, spreading joy with every single song. Tongue-in-cheek? Fuck yeah! Especially if you know that 20% of the proceeds of “Christmas Songs” go to SNAP (Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests).

It shows that these are just good songs even when they are stripped of all religious connotations. Which will happen if a band called Bad Religion plays them. What makes it all even better is that the little backup choirs Bad Religion is known for, lend themselves beautifully to these traditionals. Don’t believe me? Check out the a cappella opener “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing” or the ‘in excelsis deo’ part in “Angels We Have Heard On High”.

So raise your cup of eggnog high in the air and sing along because after all, nothing says Christmas like Bad Religion. And now if you’ll excuse me, I just looked up the album on Amazon and one of the suggestions that came up was an artist called Barbra Streisand… being the Bad Religion fan that I am, I have to check this out as well!

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
