Following the release of last year’s “Don’t Want It” EP, Dutch garage rockers The Black Cult are back with a self-titled full-length. Even though they have only been around for a little while, they already played at a bunch of festivals and opened for the likes of Warm Soda, Useless Eaters and Dead Ghosts. Oh, and for Guano Apes. Because every band has to start somewhere.

The album comes with a dozen songs that are all as garage-y as they are punky and poppy and opens strongly with the one-two combo that is “Find A Way” and “Older”. These cuts give you a pretty good idea of what this band is all about… being loud, being fast and having a good time. Preferably with plenty of alcohol involved. Unfortunately not all of the songs on here are equally memorable (“No”, “All I Know”). Still a lot of fun though.

Fans of King Tuff, together PANGEA and FIDLAR might want to check this out.

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
