Boysetsfire and Funeral For A Friend combined forces and created a split single. The best part of it all? They covered each other’s songs!  I suspect a lot of people have been waiting for this. Well kids, the time has come.

Boysetsfire performed “10:45 Amsterdam Conversations” while  Funeral For A Friend sang “Rookie”. Both of the songs start off with a long ass intro. Intros are never a bad thing, unless they go on for too long. There’s a thin line between awesome and awful. These gents sure know that. When you get to the vocals –a lot of fans might have already their panties in a wad by now, it is that great -  you know you’re in for a good one.  Both bands have managed to cover the song, but personalised them as well. For example, the Boysetsfire dude has a unique voice. It puts a twist on every sound that comes out of his mouth. Same goes for the Funeral For A Friend singer. He sounds a bit more nasal. Oh, and both bands sound amazing, as always.

If you’d put a gun to my head and made me choose between the two songs, I’d have to say I liked the Funeral For a Friend one better, for reasons unknown. But if you like Boysetsfire better, that’s fine too. Whatever floats your boat, as long as you buy this single, everything’s alright.

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
