When As Friends Rust called it a day back in 2002, they left behind a discography that spanned six years, three lineups, six releases and a lot of different sounds that can roughly all be categorized as melodic hardcore. Fronted by Damien Moyal (Culture, Morning Again, On Bodies), this Gainesville, Florida based outfit was nothing short of amazing. And if you were lucky enough to see their recent show at Groezrock, you know that they still haven’t lost any of their urgency or energy.

The modestly titled “Greatest Hits?” was curated by the band and does a great job of taking you through the band’s history over the span of 14 songs. It’s the perfect chance to rediscover this band or to find out what all the fuzz is about if you weren’t around for their first run. And who knows, maybe it marks a new start? A guy can hope, right?

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
