Gateway District describe themselves as a supergroup in the same sense that McDonalds ketchup is fancy and consists of current and former members of The Soviettes, Banner Pilot, Dear Landlord, Off With Their Heads and more. They play a very poppy and upbeat kind of pop-punk that’s as much fun to listen to as it is unpretentious.

Led by vocalists Maren and Carrie, these guys and girls revel in upbeat songs that are catchy, infectious and highly effective. It’s not that they’re doing anything you haven’t heard before… it’s basically like listening to Off With Their Heads with female vocalists and a bit more optimism but it’s just good music basically.

Apparently “Old Wild Hearts” is already the band’s third release but it’s the first one I’ve heard and I’m kind of upset that I’ve been missing out!

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
