Whereas Hear The Sirens’ debut had more in common with Strike Anywhere than with anyone else, their new album “Renegade” is of the poppy variety. Think Green Day mixed in with Sum 41 and some Sugarcult.

The songs on here are extremely bouncy, come with big singalong choruses and the vocals have just enough grit to give things a bit of an edge. The only downside is that after a while the tracks all blend into one another and while there is a lot to be said for their songwriting chops, that does not necessarily mean I want to hear the same song twelve times in a row.

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
