I have to say that this is some strange album art. Whereas I was expecting to hear well, anything but a metalcore album, House Vs Hurricane turns out to most definitely play just that. And then there’s the inlay which has a milemarker for Brussels in it… but the band is from Australia. Puzzling to say the least.

On to the music then… House Vs Hurricane sticks to the formula and comes at you with pummelling riffs, breakdowns galore and catchy choruses. Nothing new there. But these Melbourne dudes do bring enough conviction and energy to the table to make “Crooked Teeth” an album worthy of your time. Rather than just stringing breakdowns together, these guys write actual songs and throw in a breakdown at the right time to drive the point home even further.

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
