Left Of The Dial calls Michigan home and while its members have previously been active in bands that played everything from grinding hardcore, youth crew and rock ‘n roll, their new outfit is a different beast altogether. On “Idly By” they dabble in punkrock that draws inspiration from the likes of Lifetime and Jawbreaker… always a good thing in my book.

“Idly By” is not a new full-length but rather a compilation of two previously released EPs: one recorded in January 2012 with Weekend Nachos’ Andy Nelson and the other one earlier this year with The Swellers’ Nick Diener. Together that makes eight songs of easy on the ears punkrock that are fast, energetic, melodic and come with plenty of sing-along parts.

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
