Maple Hill is a relatively new band out of Ithaca, NY, who got their start in mid-2014. Following the release of their debut EP “A Moment Alone”, they will drop their first full-length later this week.

“Headspace” comes with ten tracks of the pop-punk variety. If you are into the likes of State Champs, Neck Deep and The Story So Far, then this should sound instantly familiar. Is that a good thing? Yes, because all of the songs on “Headspace” are well written and come with plenty of energy and more bouncy rhythms and melodic hooks than you can shake a stick at. No, because while knowing their way around a hook, Maple Hill do not succeed in adding anything all their own to what is by now, a familiar sound. That being said, anyone who feels like they could do with some more pop-punk in their lives, should definitely take a couple of minutes and give these dudes a spin.

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
