Not Scientists have a new album out. It’s called ‘Golden Staples’ and comes with ten fresh-faced songs that see this French band incorporating some different flavors while still keeping up with their earlier pop-punk stylings.
This leads to some pretty fun tunes like opening track ‘Just About Ready To Beg’, post-punky single ‘Perfect World’ and the more mellow ‘Sky On Fire’. And that’s just the first three songs. Next up you get more post-punk in cuts like ‘Orientation’ and ‘Submarine’ and more summery vibes in ‘Paper Crown’ and the title track. It all has a very breezy, summery feeling to it. The album could use some more truly memorable hooks to take home the prize, but other than that there is a lot to enjoy on ‘Golden Staples’.
