LA’s Rotting Out continue down their path of badassery with the 5-song EP “The Reckoning”, which comes with three new tracks and two Circle Jerks covers.

Opening track “Born” kicks off with an audio clip from the movie Tombstone before exploding in a barrage of metallic crunch and a bass line so dirty it should be 18+ only. “Eyes Wide” and “End Of The Road” are two more excellent hardcore punk tunes that both start with audio clips as well, respectively from Lawless and Falling Down. After that it’s time for some Circle Jerks worship with Rotting Out tearing their claws in “I Don’t Care” and “Live Fast Die Young”. They stay pretty close to the originals but add some extra crunch in order to beef the songs up.

Five songs. Ten minutes. That’s all these guys need to prove once again why it is they’re moving up to the top of the hardcore foodchain at such a blistering pace.

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
