Tusky is a new punkrock band out of Holland consisting of former John Coffey guitarist Alfred van Luttikhuizen, former John Coffey guitar technician Sjors van Reeuwijk, bassist Justin Ghijsen and – funny enough – a drummer named Bas Alleein Richir. Funny because Bas is Dutch for bass.

Anyway, these guys sound like they are having a blast on debut album ‘Rated Gnar’. Think Foo Fighters and Biffy Clyro with some ‘Bleed American’ era Jimmy Eat World mixed in. And everything is played with an energy level that rivals that of The Bronx.

Nothing on ‘Rated Gnar’ is overthought or too complicated. Tusky just like rocking the fuck out and have a seemingly endless supply of catchy choruses at their disposal. It might not be too original, but there is no denying that tracks like opening track ‘White Dress’, ‘Going Out’ and ‘You Will Not Regret This (Please Hold Still)’ are a helluva lot of fun.

Track listing:

  1. White Dress
  2. Folly
  3. Going Out
  4. Beacheater
  5. Attend The Party
  6. Tea For One
  7. Armed To The Teeth
  8. You Will Not Regret This (Please Hold Still)
  9. Smack Me With Your Bible Belt

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
