2015 marked the reunion of American grunge punk icons L7. After 18 long years, the four original members are back on the road, demolishing stages across the globe. Headed to Europe and Australia in the coming months, they wrapped up the US leg of the tour this Saturday with a headlining Atlanta’s Wrecking Ball Festival.

In a surprise twist, the band invited fellow rocker and actress Juliette Lewis, who performed earlier that day with her band Juliette and The Licks, to join them on stage. The performance was an homage to her role on stage as Mallory from Oliver Stone’s cult favorite Natural Born Killers during their anthemic hit “Shitlist” which helped to immortalize both the song and a graphic scene in the film. Check out the performance below (filmed by @heavymetalhandyman).

L7 came back into the spotlight upon the announcement of their documentary film, L7: Pretend We’re Dead, which will debut in the fall and was fully funded by fans across the globe via Kickstarter. Often credited as a leading force behind the grunge movement of the late ‘80s and for their influence on riot grrrl bands of the early ‘90s, the reaction to the announcement was far more electric than they could have expected and proved they haven’t lost an ounce of their unstoppable energy.
