Mineral premiered “Aurora” -- the seminal Austin, TX-based band’s first new song in 20 years.

“Aurora” will be released in celebration of the band’s 25th anniversary as part of One Day When We Are Young: Mineral At 25: a limited edition (2,000 total) hardcover book that comes with a collectible 10-inch, double A-side single featuring a second new song, “Your Body Is The World.” The 56-page book includes a written history of Mineral by music journalist Mischa Pearlman; brand new interviews with the band; contributions from Jim Adkins (Jimmy Eat World), Tim Kasher (Cursive), Norman Brannon (Texas Is The Reason), Frank Iero (My Chemical Romance), and Robert Pope (The Get Up Kids), in addition to others close to the band who played an important role in their past or their present – or both; and rare or never-before-seen photographs, memorabilia, and handwritten lyrics. One Day When We Are Young: Mineral At 25 will be out January 4, 2019 via House Arrest.

To further celebrate their anniversary, Mineral – Simpson, guitarist Scott McCarver, bassist Jeremy Gomez, and drummer Gabe Wiley – has announced 2019 tour dates in the U.S., Japan, UK, and Europe. The U.S. run begins January 9th in Miami, FL and continues through a hometown show on February 14th, including a January 19th Brooklyn, NY show at Elsewhere and a February 3rd Los Angeles, CA show at the Echoplex.
