Movie Reviews
Here it is! The latest movie by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg that almost didn’t see the light of day thanks to terror threats from North-Korea. But the Western world took a stance and said no, we will not back down. We will proudly forge ahead and release this collection of poop jokes in spite of the terror threats! Ah, what a proud moment in cinematic history it was.
James Franco plays Dave Skylark, a Ryan Seacrest-like celebrity interviewer who is invited by North Korean minister for propaganda Sook (Diana Bang) to interview Kim Jong-un (Randall Park) and show the world how great he truly is. Kim is a fan of Skylark, apparently. Obviously Dave and his producer Aaron Rapaport (Rogen) are ecstatic. However, their happiness is short-lived when the CIA hears about the interview and wants Dave and Aaron to kill the North Korean despot.
Is The Interview a good movie? Meh. For every joke that works, there are four that fall flat on their face. Basically, this is just another extremely silly Rogen/Goldberg collaboration that is good for a couple of laughs, but one that most definitely did not warrant an international conflict. Publicists couldn’t dream up this kind of publicity though!
Blu-ray extras include deleted scenes, bloopers and a couple of fun featurettes among other things.
