Movie Reviews
Following up on the zomcom that was Life After Beth, writer/director Jeff Baena got a bunch of improv actors together, lived with them in Ojai where they all worked together on shaping their dialogues. So they kinda lived the movie. Which is about a dude name Joshy who was getting married, but now isn’t. I’m not going to tell you why, because it’s the only scene worth watching and I don’t want to give it away.
Seeing he and his buddies had already rented a house for the bachelor party and can’t get the deposit back, they decide to head over there and have a blast. Which in their case seems to exist out of a shitload of incredibly boring, slightly neurotic conversations, jokes that aren’t nowhere near funny and board games. Definitely not the kind of people I would want to be around.
I think this was supposed to be an awkward comedy that explores how thirtysomethings interact and blah blah. Unfortunately they called it a day at awkward.
