Life tells the story of the six-member crew aboard the International Space Station who are on the verge of one of the most important discoveries in human history: proof that there is extraterrestrial life on Mars. But oh oh, turns out the alien lifeform doesn’t particularly like us and neither Ryan Reynolds, Jake Gyllenhaal, Rebecca Ferguson or anyone else of the crew, seemed to be able to predict this. Guess none of them ever watched a sci-fi movie before…

Directed by Swedish director Daniel Espinosa (Child 44, Safe House), Life is a somewhat okay science fiction flick that reminds a bit too much of Alien for its own comfort. Not sure how that happened with writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick aboard, the guys responsible for Deadpool and Zombieland, but it did.

The movie starts off promising enough, but once the alien starts killing people, none of whom you got to know well enough to care, the entire thing leads up to little more than an extremely predictable cat-and-mouse game set in a zero gravity environment.
