Season four of “The Walking Dead” starts off with the merry band of survivors holed up in their prison compound where every character has taken on a role: Carol is teaching the kids how to defend themselves, Daryl leads small groups on supply runs,… Rick on the other hand realized he had wandered a little too far off of the reservation and has taken a step back as a leader and mostly sticks to tending the garden.

Sounds pretty good so far, right? But hey, it’s still “The Walking Dead” we’re talking about here so you know that the ‘happily ever after’ thing isn’t going to happen. Even though the prison walls are doing an adequate job of keeping the zombies outside, they can’t stop the virus from coming in and wreaking havoc. At the same time, there’s another outside threat rearing its ugly head. It all leads up to the core group disbanding with characters finding themselves on the road again, alone or in groups of two or three. It’s an opportunity for the show’s makers to focus on just one person or pair for an entire episode and more often than not, it pays off.

Of course they will get back together again at some point… but who will be left by then? And how will they find one another? It’s something you will have to wait for until the end of the season to find out. But don’t worry… there’s plenty of drama, suspense and horror to keep you glued to the edge of your seat until then.
