Album Reviews

Portland, Maine's pop-punks Borderlines have returned with a new 4-song EP, ‘Repair Kit,’ out now on Mom's Basement Records. If you remember, the band’s debut album, ‘Keep Pretending,’ made it on my Best of 2023 list so I went into this one with high hopes. And boy, does it deliver.
"Cut You Out" immediately grabs your attention with solid hooks that are downright infectious. Which can be said for the other tracks on here as well. ‘Okay, Socrates’ has a little more pep to it and is one of the EP’s highlights, ‘Not Our Fault’ has some Teenage Bottlerocket vibes going on in the verses while the short blast that is ‘Tragedy Waits’ gets the job done in just 90 seconds.
With ‘Repair Kit’, Borderlines deliver a strong collection of pop-punk tunes that proves that ‘Keep Pretending’ wasn’t a fluke. These guys know their way around strong hooks and catchy choruses and have read the pop-punk songbook cover to cover twice over.
Repair Kit tracklist:
