Following last year’s “If You Don’t Have Anything Nice To Say…”, the weirdness that is The Bunny The Bear is back with a new album. “The Stomach For It” is as good a name as any for this album because you either love these guys or you can’t stand them. There’s simply no room for anything in between.

The album is preceded by single “Lonely” and the music video for it is a mix between Alice In Wonderland and House of 1000 Corpses according to the band. That same comparison could very well be used to sum up their sound with highly melodic vocals and cheesy dance tunes on one hand and brutal riffage, sickening shrieks and grunts on the other.

Kids on Ritalin will no doubt gobble up tunes like “Sky” or “This Isn’t Why You Made Her” with their trance-y synths, chugga chugga riffage and general insanity, but it’s just too much for me. I can’t keep up with all the tempo changes and the completely over the top vocal stylings. And it’s already hard enough to stay focused as you work your way down the tracklisting, but it’s even harder to tell the songs apart. They all blend together into one big mess and make it painfully obvious that The Bunny The Bear are very much a one-trick pony.

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
