On their Kung Fu Records debut, Simi Valley, CA’s Danger Friends dish out six slabs of punk rock without guitars. What? Without guitars? Yeah, without guitars. Instead, they seem to content to abuse their synths while vocalist Brian Rogers completely loses his shit. It's punk rock, Jim, but not as we know it.

Granted, the first time I heard “Zeros” I was confused. But there’s something about the band’s relentless energy that borders on chaotic that kept me coming back to this EP. During the first couple of spins, you will mostly hear a lot of noise with vocals, synths and drums that are constantly in the red. But then catchy hooks start to reveal themselves and once you have spotted them, there’s no getting them out of your head.

Ever wondered what DEVO would sound like after a three-day Red Bull bender? Danger Friends did.

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
