Album Reviews
The Flatliners dropped a bombshell called “Cavalcade” in 2010. Loaded with buzzsaw guitars, big choruses, solid lyrics and catchy hooks, it had everything you could ever want in a punkrock album. So could they top that with their new album? Well, maybe they didn’t top it with “Dead Language” but that’s only because the surprise has worn off and we weren’t expecting anything less this time around.
Opener “Resuscitation Of The Year” is a fast-paced tune with solid gang vocals. The same can be said for “Drown In Blood” basically. “Hounds” and “Caskets Full” are two more excellent songs, both of which have a nice bouncy vibe. And then there’s “Quitters”, two minutes of full speed ahead punkrock.
Basically, “Dead Language” is an album made by a band who have grown into a tightly-woven unit and who enjoy what they do and are exactly where they want to be... and it shows.
