Ready to bounce back from the ‘Foo Year Strong’ moniker that was bestowed upon the band after the release of 2011’s “In Some Way, Shape Or Form”, Four Year Strong is back with a new batch of songs in which they have restored their pop punk/melodic hardcore hybrid.

Everything on here sounds so damn exuberant and big, that it becomes a bit tiresome after the second song. The dual vocals already sound busy enough on their own, but if you add drums that seem addicted to breakneck tempo changes, two guitars that are constantly trying to outsmart each other, breakdowns and gang vocals all over the place along with a production job that makes everything sound bigger than life and it just starts feeling claustrophobic.

They say that you know you have a really good song on your hands, if you can play it on an acoustic guitar and still have it sounding great. I’m curious what would be left of these songs…my best guess would be not much.

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
