Brian and Matt aka The Front Bottoms are following up their self-titled debut with “Talon Of The Hawk”, an album that sounds bigger yet one that is still as quirky as its predecessor. From the smartass attitude they take on in opener “Au Revoir (Adios)” to singing about regrettable tattoos in “Back Flip”, these guys have the kind of lyrics that are witty and instantly memorable because they remind us of the kind of conversations you have with your friends.

Couple those lyrics to catchy, poppy tunes that invite to singalongs and you’re looking at an album that is just too much fun from start to finish. For some reason this New Jersey duo reminds me of Atom & His Package more often than not and in my book, that is always a very good thing.

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
