Club Dragon
6.0
You might not know it looking at their album cover, but France’s Hightower play the kind of melodic punk rock that takes cues from Four Year Strong and The Story So Far, coupled with the speed of a skatepunk band. It’s a formula that’s been used time and time again, yet people never seem to tire of it.
Thanks to the production job of Steve Evetts (Kid Dynamite, The Wonder Years, Lifetime), the dozen songs that make up “Club Dragon” sound great. Unfortunately, they all blend together a bit too much for their own good. It makes this one album that is enjoyable, but not quite convincing enough.
