Honest Thieves are a newish punk rock band out of Cardiff that finds three guys combining the songwriting skills and drinking habits they picked up in their previous bands, Dividers and Pipedream.

You can find out what that sounds like on the band’s debut 7”, ‘Ineptitude,’ where they have a bit of Marked Men going on one minute (opening track ‘Open Letter’) and Iron Chic the next (‘Defeated’) with some Hot Water Music and Jawbreaker poured over the whole thing. They like their music loud, fast, energetic and with a ton of hooks, melodies and more than their share of backup ooh’s and aah’s. In short, everything I like about music rolled up into four tasty slices. Enough about this 7”now, where’s that full-length at?

Track listing:

  1. Open Letter
  2. Start Again
  3. Won't Be Long
  4. Defeated

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
