On their second album, SoCal’s Implants plays melodic punk rock like it’s the late 90ies and we’re all still rocking baggy cargo pants and wallet chains. Makes sense if you know that the band features members of mainstays such as Face To Face, Strung Out, Pulley, Ten Foot Pole, No Use For A Name. ‘Annihilation’ is everything you wish The Offspring’s new album was.

Produced and mixed by Chris Collier (Korn, Pulley, Prong) and mastered by Kyle Black (Pierce The Veil, Comeback Kid, New Found Glory), ‘Annihilation’ comes with 12 songs that pack tons of energy and are highly contagious. Cuts like ‘Shades Of Black’ and ‘Paramnesia’ have a near unstoppable flow. Lyrically dealing with subjects like depression and suicidal thoughts, navigating the emotions that come with a breakup as well as governmental corruption and the failings of our current leadership, Implants is not afraid to look at the ugliness around us, while also making sure there’s plenty of good times to be had with these tunes. After all, misery loves company.

Vocalist Ken Conte stated that they named the album ‘Annihilation’ because we’re heading rapidly towards the complete destruction of our planet. So you’d better hurry and enjoy the hell out of this one while we still can!

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
