Guess that Jackson 5 reunion won’t go through as planned but at least we have the new Jackson United album to help us soften the pain. And no, that’s not Michael and Bubbles’ new project, it’s Chris Shiflett with a little help from his brother Scott (Face To Face) and a couple of friends including fellow Foo Fighters Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins. “Harmony And Dissidence” kicks off nice enough with the anthemic “21st Century Fight Song” and then flows seamlessly into the bouncy “Undertow” that comes complete with a verse that would make Joe Strummer proud. Shiflett simply keeps charging ahead with fast-paced punkrock songs from there on with “The Land Without Law” and the more mellow “Trigger Happy” as just a couple more highlights.

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
