Inches
7.0
Even before their debut album came out, Les Savy Fav was working on a project which eventually led to them releasing nine 7” on as many different labels. In 2004 they were all thrown together and released in the US under the moniker “Inches”. It took until now for the album to get a proper release everywhere else in the world.
What to expect? 18 Songs of Les Savy Fav’s eccentric guitar eruptions and Tim Harrington’s equally eccentric lyrics. The album starts off with their then most recent single “Meet Me In The Dollar Bin” and then works its way back all the way to Les Savy Fav’s starting days. Logically, things get worse the further back you go, ending with the sounds of a band still desperately trying to find a sound of their own. Something they obviously did as you will quickly find out while listening to the first part of “Inches” with “The Sweat Descends” as my personal favorite!
