Mercy Union's latest, "7inch", is only three songs, but a great listen. Each song is different, yet they sonically work together as a whole and make for a solid representation of a band that could have been nothing more than a side project (The Scandals' Jared Hart and The Gaslight Anthem's Benny Horowitiz are in the band).

There are some quirky vocal choices on "Chips and Vices" but the bass and Benny's drumming are so good that you can easily get past these issues. Also, I have to give Mercy Union mad props for the breakdown, and live sample from Rancid's "As wicked", on "Young Dionysians". It was delightful and brought a smile to my face.

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
