“Eyes All Around”, Midday Veil’s first full-length, got good reviews on a number of blogs. But it’s the band’s improvised cassette releases that got them more attention. One of those cassettes was recorded in a geodesic dome built with “extraterrestrial guidance” on a magnetic vortex in the Mojave desert. Yeah, this is one weird band.
Hailing from Seatlle, Midday Veil is a multimedia ensemble that combines hazy, haunting vocals with tripped out keyboards and a rocking groove. Sometimes this leads to decent songs like the title track, more often however to endless noodling that’s about as interesting as gazing at the accumulated fluff that has found shelter in your bellybutton.
