No Parents are a punk rock band from the San Fernando Valley who according to their bio, like to eat meat, have a secret handshake and were in an Eva Longoria movie called “Low Riders.”Not that any one of those facts has anything to do with any of the others. Before I get lost in random band trivia, let’s just quickly mention that No Parents also released a new 4-song EP called ‘Middleground’. And that it’s pretty great.

‘Middleground’ was recorded at Balboa Studios with Danny Nogueiras (FIDLAR, No Win) and with just four songs, it’s over before you know it. And that’s one of No Parents’ biggest strength. Not specifically the fact that they get out of your hair in under ten minutes, but that they seem to have a knack for short songs that waste no time getting to the point and leave everything else behind on the cutting floor. It makes for songs that have an incredible flow and seem to consist of little more than big melodic hooks, solid riffs and catchy choruses. Just check out ‘Punisher’ and try to disagree. I’ll fight you over this.

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
