After the release of “Accidents Do Not Happen, They Are Caused” late last year, Oxygen Thief (aka Barry Dolan) is already back at it. “One Day This Will All Be Fields” is an acoustic 5-song EP and I just don’t get it.

Dolan sounds a bit like Frank Turner without the hooks and the guitar playing on this one is just… I don’t even know how to describe it. It slows down and speeds and goes from fluid to angular in about five seconds and then switches things up about fifty more times in every song.

Apparently Oxygen Thief’s last release was with a full band. I can see that working better in a math-y kinda way. With just an acoustic guitar though, this didn’t do anything other than annoy the shit out of me.

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
