Partisan, the Belgian trio featuring former members of Rise And Fall, Oathbreaker and Maudlin, are back with a new 6-song EP titled “We Have Been So Terribly Betrayed”.
The collection of six songs finds the band placing more emphasis on the ‘punk’ part of their post-punk sound with plenty of poppy sensibilities. Now, I’ve never associated post-punk with any kind of warmth, but the guys in Partisan manage to make their songs sound inviting while still staying true to the genre’s staples. The only downside is that even with just six songs, things start to blend together after the first couple of songs.
