After years of fronting Gainesville outfit Gunmoll, Mike Hale made for California where after a particular hard and alcohol-fueled night, he met his new best friend Matt. Together they decided to start a band called In The Red and the rest is - as they say - history.

They're back now with "Volume 2", an album filled with high-quality cuts that prove that while you might be able to take a guy out of Gainesville, you can't take Gainesville out of the guy. There's plenty in here for Hot Water Music fans to drewl over while grunge fans all over the country all of a sudden feel a bizarre urge to iron their flannel shirts. Especially songs like "The Drakes" and the more mellow "Green Eyes" tickled my fancy. It might be because both Mike and Matt are carpenters but I swear that "Volume 2" gave me wood.

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
