Daring to attempt something new is a good thing and something to be encouraged… to boldly go where no man has gone before and all that crap. Except in the case of Canada’s Skip The Foreplay who should go where no man has gone before and stay there. That’s their penalty for trying to combine metalcore with dubstep on “Nightlife”. Newsflash… they fail miserably!

Just like Enter Shikari before them, they prove one thing and that is that heavy guitars and electronic music don’t mix. One is heavy and ugly, the other is cute, übermelodic and unless you’re five years old and still believe “The Beauty and The Beast” is possible in real life, you know that ugly and pretty don’t mix.

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
