Belgium’s Soon has just released their third full-length called “As Of Yet”. Not too many differences with “Under The Wire” to be honest. Which is not a bad thing cuz I still play that album on a regular basis. While the rhythms are urgent, the guitars waver all over the place and help set the mood. And to top it all off, vocalist Enzo Cloetens pours out his heart with his soothing voice and a great sense of melody. It’s hard not to like songs such as “Cardboard City”, first single “Asleep On The Battlefield” or “Reverse Cinderella” and overall I’m seriously digging their indie rock/postpunk sound. They might not be as diverse as Bloc Party is on their third album, but with the touching closer “Until The Morning Breaks” they do prove they are capable of a lot more.

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
