Following PUP, Pkew Pkew Pkew and a couple more, we have another Canadian band releasing a solid punk rock album in 2019. ‘Until We’re Each Someone Else’ finds the Toronto four-piece following up on 2014’s ‘Getting Used To Feeling Like Shit’ and comes with eleven rock solid tracks.

I mean, it’s not given to many to write a song called ‘Never Should’ve Bothered’ and have it come out a party anthem. But Stuck Out Here manages to do just that. As a matter of fact, they absolutely rule at sounding like an understated, self-deprecating party band on songs like ‘Embarass You’ and the Menzingers meets Gaslight Anthem-y ‘Hangover Sex’. Think upbeat, melodic and anthemic, but in a low-key and laid-back kinda way.

‘Until We’re Each Someone Else’ could have been a bit of a bummer album with lyrics that seem to focus mostly on relationships gone wrong and the regret and guilt that come with them. But that’s not taking into account the big, shiny melodies and undeniably catchy hooks that keep me coming back to this album again and again.

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
