Album Reviews
Yes, it is cheesy to start off an album with wailing sirens but if anyone can pull it off, then it’s the Supersuckers! The self-proclaimed greatest rock and roll band in the world live up to their reputation once again and as soon as they rip into the title track, you know you’re in for a hell of a good time. Next up is “Something About You”, a song that sounds like the sonic offspring of the Ramones and Social D. And they just keep going from there… it’s balls to the wall rock music that is more testosterone-driven than that kid who masturbated 41 times in a row and died as a result.
There’s hardly any room this time around for the band’s country influences or you would have to be talking about the harmonica in “Fuck Up” or the twang-heavy “High Tonight”. Other than that, it’s all rock and roll and that’s just fine by me. 25 Years into the game and these guys are still making it sound easy. Even when they’re sinking their teeth in other people’s work, they effortlessly make it their own, which would explain my reaction of ‘Gary who?’ and ‘Depeche what?’ after listening to “Rock On” and “Never Let Me Down Again”.
