For over 15 years, Chicago’s Textbook have been cranking out tunes that hit that sweet spot between The Replacements, Naked Raygun, Superchunk and The Lemonheads. To celebrate the occasion they picked their favorite songs and put them on one album, completely re-mastered and all. That means you can now listen to the awesomeness that is “Outside” and “Desperation Fee” as well as that slightly twangy goodness of “Dear You, Dear”.

And just because they could, they even threw in a previously unreleased acoustic version of “Dear You, Dear” and a cover of Chillerton’s “Holden”. Make sure to check out “Just One Of Those Things” and “Looking After Me” as well, featuring guest vocals by Dan Vapid (Screeching Weasel, Riverdales) and Jeff Pezzati (Naked Raygun) respectively.

The record is part of Paper and Plastick’s Sound of The Skull series and is available digitally on a USB and accompanied by a limited edition resin skull. The record is of course also available via all your favorite digital outlets.

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
