The Australian fivesome that is Tonight Alive already left a good impression with their “Consider This” EP and now further solidify that impression with “The Other Side”, their first full-length for Fearless Records.

Armed with a mighty set of pipes, vocalist Jenna McDougall takes the lead here and does a solid job on songs like “Lonely Girl” and “The Fire”. The rest of the band does an equally banging job with driving rhythms and pretty decent riffs that swirl all over the place. Sure, the songs all sound alike but compared to some of the other releases Fearless has dropped in the last couple of years, this one is sheer genius. Think of Paramore covering a Saosin song if you will and you’ll have a pretty good idea of what “The Other Side” is about.
