Album Reviews
One of the hardest working bands I know is back with a new EP. While they normally walk in and get the job done in two minutes or less, this time around they open the festivities with a title track that goes on for a whopping eleven minutes. Do they pull it off? Effortlessly!
Think of everything you love about Trigger Effect (the intense vocals, crazy riffs, pounding rhythm section and overall awesomeness) and throw in some additional Mastodon influences and you know you’re in for a treat. Even when they slow things down in the second half of the song, they don’t lose any of their power before building things up again towards a more gratifying climax than the one you get after a massage where you asked for a happy ending. The surprises don’t end there though… the second song on here is called “L.A.R.P.” and comes with a folksy, flute-enhanced intro courtesy of Priestess’ Mikey Heppner).
If anything, this EP leaves you begging for more and shows once again why we here at PRT feel that Trigger Effect is one of the most underrated bands around.
