London’s Turbogeist race out the starting blocks with the grungy “Mermaid’s Revenge” before hooking you completely with the edgy solo in “Zero Friends”. After that the beefy “Black Hole” and “Rats” are just cherries on the cake.

Combining 70s punk, 80s hardcore, 90s grunge with a whiff of glam, these guys ended up with a collection of songs that could veer off in any direction… even though it’ll probably always lead to somewhere dark and seedy in the end.

Fronted by Mick Jagger’s son Jimmy, this bunch knows its way around a hook while maintaining a distinctly gritty sound that works wonders for the material. “Ancient Secrets” is as solid as EPs get… now let’s see if they can keep this energy going for an entire full-length!

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
